Farming has been a family tradition in the Rue family since 1910 when our great grand-father, Knute Rue moved to Oregon and began farming loganberries, hops, hogs and cattle. Our grandfather, Waldo Rue, raised livestock and farmed grain and grass seed after serving in WWII. After he retired, our Father, Joel Rue, took over the farm in 1976 raising peas, oats, wheat, sugar beets, and brassicas, though predominantly grass seed. Today, Joel and all three of his son’s, Jesse, Lucas and Ben, farm together striving for excellence in the production of grass seed while maintaining integrity and sustainability.
